The General K.S. Thimayya Memorial Trust was established in August of 2009 and
is managed by a board of trustees composed of the following old boys of Bishop
Cotton Boys’ School, Bangalore:
Aditya Sondhi (Managing Trustee), C. N. Kumar, Kiran Lakhani, Jairaj Daniel and
Rajeev Purnaiya
The principal objectives of the General K. S. Thimayya Memorial Trust as
articulated in the trust deed are:
To undertake activities to pay tribute to and to propagate the memory of
General Kodandera Subayya Thimayya, Padma Bhushan, DSO, Chief of the Army
Staff, May 7, 1957 to May 7, 1961, and Old Cottonian (1918-22) and to this end
to carry out activities in relation to and support institutions that the late
General has been closely involved with, including Bishop Cotton Boys’ School,
Bangalore, the Kumaon Regiment, the Army, the Armed Forces at large, and Kodagu
District. For the purpose of achieving this object, the Trust shall have the
following ancillary objects:

To conduct the General Thimayya
Memorial Lecture on an annual basis, or at such frequency as the Trustees may
determine. |

In the memory of General K S
Thimayya: |

| a) |
|
To conduct conferences and seminars of intellectuals among
eminent individuals on scientific, literary, cultural and educational subjects. |
| b) |
|
To give, provide and/or render help and assistance in kind to
the socially and economically weaker, needy and marginalised sections of the
society, irrespective of caste and creed; |
| c) |
|
To open, found, establish, promote, set-up, run, maintain,
assist, finance, support and/or aid or help in setting up or maintaining and/or
run schools, colleges, lecture halls, auditoriums, and other establishments or
institutions for the advancement of the objects of this Trust; |
| d) |
|
To grant, to pay or give scholarships, stipends, prizes,
rewards, allowances and other financial assistance or help in cash or kind to
the deserving and meritorious students/scholars with a view to helping them
pursue their studies; |
| e) |
|
To promote, organize, administer, establish, support, maintain,
and/or grant aid to any person, institution or society or other organization or
trust having similar objects; |

To obtain or receive funds by
donation, gift, bequest, or otherwise without limitation in amount, subject
only to any limitation which may be imposed by the laws in force in India, from
individuals, firms, companies or any body of persons, charitable institutions,
organizations and trusts operating in India or in any other country
exclusively; and to invest or re-invest such funds and to apply the income and
principal there of as the Board of Trustees may from time to time determine. |

To do all other acts and things as
are conducive or helpful to the advancement and fulfillment of the principal
and other objects above mentioned. |
The Trust shall not carry on any activity with an intention to earn profit. The
General K. S. Thimayya Memorial Trust is duly registered.
The registered office of the Trust is situated at: 101 Landmark, 5/2 Cunningham
Crescent Road, Bangalore - 560 052, India.
